We are a principles-based business. Our products are:
Healthier for you.
Your health is a priority for us. Our Research and Development team evaluate and minimise the impact of our products on people's health every step of the way, from sourcing raw materials to end use.
Safer for our environment.
We use sustainably-sourced plant and mineral based ingredients over petrochemical ones whenever possible and every one of our ingredients is assessed for sustainability and biodegradability. Our Auckland-based factory is the only manufacturer in Australasia with ISO14001, Diamond Enviromark, carboNZero and Kosher certifications. These certifications are your guarantee that our products are made with respect and care for our environment.
Packaged in the best materials available.
Minimising packaging is an ongoing challenge. Right now we’re reducing waste wherever we can and using a mix of recycled and recyclable materials for our packaging.
Labelled with a full list of ingredients.
Disclosure of ingredients is not legally required on any cleaning product labels in Australia or New Zealand yet, but we think it should be manadatory so that people can easily identify and research every ingredient. This is particularly important for people who are trying to reduce toxic chemicals in their lives and for anyone with allergies.
Guaranteed to give excellent results.
We send all of our product formulations to an independent laboratory to be benchmarked against the market leader to guarantee excellent performance. When all laboratory testing on our products is complete we carry out extensive in-house testing as well as large-scale consumer testing to make sure our customers love them.
Concentrated to save you money.
Our Research and Development team uses the least number of ingredients at the lowest concentrations to get the best results. We don’t use bulking agents or fillers that can give a misleading idea of value and the concentrated goodness of our products means you don't need to use as much, saving you money overall.
Not tested on animals.
ecostore is a choose cruelty free accredited company, which means we don’t test our products on animals - except for a bunch of willing human volunteers. Our products proudly carry the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) Logo. PETA is currently the world’s largest animal rights organisation. In return for using their logo we have signed their statement of assurance verifying that we do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and pledge not to do so in the future.
GE has always been a huge concern to us, in fact way back in 2003 we were a Gold Sponsor of the Econation 2020 Campaign against lifting the moratorium on GE field trials in NZ. None of our plant-based ingredients come from GE stock such as corn and wheat. Despite the fact that there is a new cornstarch alternative to plastic we won’t use it because it comes from GE crops.
